Rules for the
AMIGA_PDREVIEW Echo Conference
Sept. 25th, 1991
*-Founder - Michael Deberg 1:232/301
*-Moderator - Gary Gulliver 1:2608/27
The following Rules will apply to this Area and Failure to follow these
Rules will mean the loss of Access to this echomail base.
1. The purpose of this echo is for both Sysop's and Users of BBS Systems
Who are search of a particular PD, Shareware, or Freeware Amiga file or
files, or have a file that someone is looking for, and whether or not
it is File Requestable, if its accessible on first time call, whether or
not you will be voice verified BEFORE access to your system, etc...
Commercial software is prohibted! Discussion of files and reviews of
PD/Shareware files are encouraged, with the exception of Amiga BBS
prgs, as there are other echoes to talk about this in (each bbs
prg usually has its own echo).
2. Restrictions- This echo is to be available to all to post and read,
HOWEVER, if you are a system that charges for access/use of your system,
you must say so in the msg or in your origin line so that users will know
what to expect BEFORE calling. Thats the idea of this area is to try
to steer people on where they can get the file(s) they are looking for
without a huge expense to do so.
3. No handles, profanity, flames, name calling, or other such nonsense
will be allowed in this area.
4. No sale advertisements of any kind are to posted here, there are
other proper places for their postings.
5. Talk of piracy or implied piracy, will be forbidden.
6. English is the official language of this echo and should only contain
as such.
7. Stay on topic. No BBS ads such as "Call Joe Blow's BBS at 555-1212 for
20 gigabytes of Amiga Files and 10 megs of doors", etc... After all
replying to a msg of "Where can I get this file" will be an Ad for you
BBS, isn't that enough?!?!
8. Each sysop will be responsible for messages posted in this echo by
his/her users or supported points. If a sysop cannot stop a user from
violating the rules of this echo, then the link to that system will
be cut.
9. A warning will be issued once here (such as please stay on topic or
move the conversation to another area) and then a netmail msg will
be sent if violated again. If the violation continues, the sysop of the
offending system will be notified and if no action is taking by the
sysop, then further steps will be taking to getting the link cut.
10. The moderator is not responsible for any messages posted here other
then the ones posted by users of his/her system and the ones posted
by him/herself.
11. Current FidoNet Policy guidelines will be followed in the event one
cannot follow this set of rules.
